We're almost a month into fall and it seems that EVERYTHING is pumpkin flavored, even Pringles (no joke)! So while we're gorging on pumpkin bread and pumpkin spiced lattes, it's nice to know that our dogs can indulge on some fall flavors as well. Pumpkin is high in fiber, low in fat and cholesterol, and packed with potassium, iron, beta carotene and vitamin A. It has been known to help remedy constipation and diarrhea and aid in urinary health and weight loss. It's seeds (sometimes labeled pepitas) are high in antioxidants and fatty acids which help protect joints and keep coats glossy and soft.

Tina's story is sad but not unique, unfortunately. Tina was rescued from Tijuana, Mexico where she was found in deplorable condition, almost all of her fur was gone from a case of severe mange, and she was so underweight you could see all of her bones. She had been living on the streets for months and countess people had walked past her, not giving a second look. Luckily, a kind group of people found Tina one day and decided she was worth saving. |
